Formerly a Principal Consultant at PA Consulting Group in London, he has extensive experience of best practice in project management applied to bespoke web systems development, systems deployment, and infrastructure projects. He has worked in the construction, media, energy, financial services, IT, and insurance sectors.
Job Costings 2014-2016 Developed bid management software for the UK building industry based on the Google Apps Platform. System acquired under exclusive license.
BP 2011-2016 Managing a portfolio projects for the Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Consulting on mobile and tablet app development and the use of HTML5. Managing projects relating to the IT technology used for BP's sponsorship of the London 2012 Olympics.
BG Group 2009-2011 Managed a project to deploy Oracle Primavera Portfolio and Project Management software into the Upstream Well Engineering team. Also managed a Well Integity tool into BG Group's global assets. Managed a $7m programme to deploy Primavera P6 to a global planning community.
BP 2006-2009 Managed a portfolio of projects in the Refining segment including Social Networking deployment of Wordpress and Mediawiki, Documentum, a portable crude oil analyser architected with SOAP, Amazon EC2, LAMP. Won the prestigious BP Helios award for innovation.
BP 2004-2006 Managed the rollout of the PlanView system to 600 users across the IT function globally. Managed the change required in the business to consistent portfolio management processes, budgeting, and status reporting. Implemented a UK/US helpdesk to handle support calls.
BP Pensions 2002-2004 Managed the IT workstream of the £9m project to in-source BP’s UK pensions department. Selected the web based administration software and managed the set up of Internet facing hosting facilities with IBM. Led the development of the end user self-service website https://pensionline.bp.com. Designed the DR and BC plans.
ITV plc 2001-2002 Managed the development and launch of the website http://www.itv-football.co.uk to support ‘The Premiership’ show on ITV1. Introduced the PRINCE2 project management methodology to the organisation. Managed various Interactive TV projects including “This Morning” and the ITV Sport Interactive channel.
Whichbuilder Limited 2000-2001 Co-founded an Internet start-up for home decorating and building. Recruited the core team of four people and managed the design and development of the web site. The sale of the company to high street chain Homebase failed following their acquisition by Duke Street Capital.
Natwest 1997 Developed and implemented Intranet based Portfolio Management and Programme office automation systems as part of NatWest’s £1.3bn Retail Transformation Programme which included the biggest rollout of Windows NT in Europe. Managed change issues involved with delivering substantial cost/income ratio benefits to the bank.
